Global Entry Program

The Global Entry Program is a program operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that allows eligible travelers to enter the United States more quickly.

The program is aimed at frequent travelers who want to use automated kiosks at certain airports in the USA to complete entry formalities efficiently and save time. When entering the country, participants can carry out a large part of the border control process themselves, thereby significantly speeding up the border crossing and taking advantage of TSA PreCheck, the expedited security check at US airports.

Advantages of the Global Entry Program

• Accelerated border control: Participants in the program can bypass the regular immigration queues and instead use special Global Entry Kiosks to complete their arrival in the USA quickly.
• Automated handling: After landing in the USA, participants register at a Global Entry Kiosk, where they can confirm their passport information and fingerprints and make a customs declaration. This process usually only takes a few minutes.
• PreCheck authorization: As an added benefit, Global Entry members automatically gain access to the TSA PreCheck program, which allows for faster security screening on domestic flights within the United States or flights departing from the United States.

To be eligible for the Global Entry Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Valid passport and visa if required: Applicants must have a valid passport and, if required, a valid visa for entry into the USA. If they do not have a visa, Global Entry members must have at least a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). 
• Previous convictions: Certain customs or immigration offenses disqualify applicants from Global membership. Not every criminal record automatically excludes individuals from participation, but in these cases, at least an additional security check must be expected.
• Personal interview and background check: A personal interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center and local security authority is required for the initial application to confirm the applicant's identity and eligibility.

The Global Entry Program can be used with the Visa Waiver Program (ESTA), non-immigrant and immigrant visas (Green Card).

Accelerated entry via Global Entry is possible with the following visa categories: A, B, D, E, F, G, H-1B, I, J, L, NATO, O, P, R, TN/TD, V
The following categories are excluded: C, H-1C, H-2A, H-2B, H-2R, H-3, K, M, N, Q, S, T, U,

NOTE: Not a persons's place of residence or birth, but exclusively their nationality that determines eligibility. In addition, Global Entry can only be applied for with a valid ePassport (electronic passport).

A Global Entry membership is currently valid for 5 years. Membership can be renewed at any time starting one year before it expires. You can keep enjoying the benefits of membership for a certain period after the expiration date, as long as you submit a renewal request before your current membership ends.
